 | Amateur Radio - I was first licensed back in
April 1990
as a novice. My callsign was KB8JND.
Orville "Doc" Russell - N8IBS
(sk), and Wanda Cutlip KE8RV (sk) were the members of the
Madison Amateur Radio Club that gave me my first test at the county
airport. I took my Technician test at Otterbein College in May 1990.
I got away from amateur radio for about 10 years between 1995 and
2005. I remained a Technician Plus until June 2006 when I passed my
General test. Then I began using
PSK, and SSTV. I really love PSK and can be found on 20 meters almost
daily. If you like you can visit the eQSL
card section and see some of the QSL cards that I have received
from people that I have contacted over the amateur radio. Now on
November 11, 2006 after several months of studying and taking practice
test. I went and passed my Amateur Extra license exam. No more license
test! |
 | Woodworking - I like messing around in my garage. I play
around with a little woodworking, but nothing major. Just don't have
the space for a big shop yet. |
 | Computers -
I have been messing around on computers since 1991 when I got involved
with amateur radio. I have done every thing from build and upgrading
computers, to running my own dialup online service (BBS) from 1991 to
1997. I took my Microsoft A+ Certification course in 2002. I use to be
a dos junkie. I loved it, and it took me until Windows 98 came out
with all the great graphics and software that we no longer supported
in dos to switch to Windows operating system. |
 | Pets
- I have four cats. A BIG grey cat named Smokey,
a.k.a. "Fat Cat". A black cat named Bandit. a.k.a. Pooky. The newest
are two grey and white kittens saved from the Humane Society of
Madison County. We named the kittens Tippy and Rascal. I also have a Ball Python
named Nikki that is about
4 feet long. Nikki guards the ham shack. |
